Aims and Objects: To impart training and educate young people in different aspects of performing arts. We feel that, apart from specialising in any style of dancing, an artiste must also acquire the basic knowledge of costume design, stage-craft, lighting plan, make-up and above all a mind to ascertain the aesthetic value of performing arts presentation. The institution aims to produce dancers having social awareness, basic knowledge about our rich cultural heritage, and assist the students to nurture their inherent talents. Major emphasis in this institution will be on UDAY SHANKARS STYLE of choreography and dance.
Brief
outline of the different Courses :
basic exercises of the UDAY SHANKAR style. Simple choreographic compositions and creative dance movements. Assessment made at the end of each session for promotion to next years class. Annual reports given to students for appraisal of their guardians. At the end of the fourth consecutive year, (on successful completion of BEGINNERS course) the students are eligible to join the JUNIOR Second Year. (B 2nd Year) basic and advanced grade exercises of the Uday Shankar style. Advanced choreography and dance movements. Assessment made at the end of each session for promotion to next years class. Annual reports given to students to appraise their guardians. At the end of the fourth consecutive year, (on successful completion of JUNIOR course) the students are eligible to join SENIOR Second Year. (C 2nd Year) basic techniques and advanced grade exercises in the Uday Shankar style. Choreography and dance movements in the advanced grade of Uday Shankar style. Assessments made in all subjects at the end of each session for promotion to next years class. Annual reports given to students reflecting their achievements as well as over-all proficiency. Students for this course will be selected by the institution on the basis of their aptitude and proficiency in the final year of the SENIOR COURSE (Group C). This course deals mainly with costume designing, stage-craft, thematic choreography, music appreciation, imparting lessons to junior to junior students etc. CERTIFICATE : After satisfactory completion of the advanced course, students are awarded a GRADUATION certificate in any of the three categories GOLD, SILVER or ORDINARY according to merit. However, on completion of a particular course (A / B / C) a general certificate of completion may be taken from the office on application, by the student concerned. Under no circumstances any certificate shall be issued to students, who have not completed the stipulated course in full, in a particular Group. Students having exceptional talent as a dancer and also having overall competence are given the option of joining our professional troupe as a regular member. CLASSES ARE HELD ON : MONDAYS - 5 p.m. 8 p.m. WEDNESDAYS - 5 p.m. 8 p.m. THURSDAYS - 5 p.m. 8 p.m. SUNDAYS - 4 p.m. 8 p.m. Dress : Boys will have to wear white Kurta and Paijama and Girls will have to wear orange Salawar and mustered-yellow kameez. No one will be allowed to attend any class without the specified uniform and STUDENT IDENTITY CARD. School uniforms have to be taken from office specified tailor only.
Students of "UDAYAN" are not allowed to perform (dance) any-where without the written consent of the Directors. Violation in any form will debarr the student from attending further classes. NO PAYMENTS SHALL BE ACCEPTED ON SATURDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
