CHANDRODOY
GHOSH
An ex-student of
VISVA-BHARATI (Santiniketan), Chandrodoy, son of Mr. & Mrs. Binoy Ghosh and
husband of Mamata Shankar Ghosh is an Electrical Engineer from the Jadavpur University, in
Calcutta.
Having his basic
lessons in music at Santiniketan, Chandrodoy learnt Kathakali and Uday Shankar style of
dance forms at the UDAY SHANKAR INDIA CULTURE CENTRE in Calcutta, under the
guidance of Mrs. Amala Shankar.
Founder-director
of MAMATA SHANKAR BALLET TROUPE, Chandrodoy, while writing the scripts (Aajker
Ekalabya, Vasantotsav, Milap etc.) preparing the light schemes for all the productions
of the troupe and compering the shows, looks after the management of the troupe in
its entirety.
He lead the
Indian Cultural delegation to CHINA, MONGOLIA & JAPAN ( 1985), MALDIVES
(1989) and to WEST INDIES & GUYANA (1997).
Chandrodoy,
also performs on some of the
troupes productions and have been awarded the Honorary Citizenship of
Baltimore, USA in 1983.
